The SENER Group has renewed its «FFC» certificate, awarded by the Fundación Más Familia, and improved to become a «Proactive Company» (level B), certifying its proactive role in developing and implementing work-life balance and flexibility policies that make it easy to balance the demands of professional, personal and family life.
This certification is endorsed by the Ministry of Social Rights and the 2030 Agenda, and recognized as a Good Practice by the United Nations (UN), making it one of the highest awards in terms of equality and work-life balance.
The ceremony to present this recognition took place on March 9 during an online event led by Rafael Fuertes, the General Manager of Fundación Más Family, and featuring Mikel Zahino, Director of Personnel at SENER Engineering, and Ana Úsar, Head of Equality, Diversity and Inclusion of the SENER Group.
Since being certified in 2009 as a family-friendly company, SENER has been subject to internal and external audits every year and a half. These audits analyze its continuous improvement model, FFC, including processes, communication, the voice of its employees, SENER’s measures and benefits, management’s commitment, and other aspects.
During the renewal process, more than 50 work-life balance measures implemented in the companies that make up the SENER Group in Spain were assessed.
The most significant measures include: the handling of the COVID-19 pandemic, promoting telework, connections between SENER staff, and the care of their physical and emotional well-being; the implementation of new work models; SENER CARE, the Healthy Workplace and Wellness Program; management’s commitment to promoting new measures in the areas of work-life balance, equality, diversity and inclusion; and the extension of SENER’s culture as a family-friendly company to its vendors and partners, as well as to all the people who make up the SENER Group outside Spain.
Since its founding, SENER has been committed to its professionals, society and the environment, and to its founding duty of acting responsibly in all of its actions and initiatives. As a result, its personnel policies are undertaken with a commitment to contribute to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and specifically goals 3 (Good health and well-being), 4 (Quality education), 5 (Gender equality), 8 (Decent work and economic growth) and 10 (Reduced inequalities).
