    Efficiency and safety with a minimal environmental impact

    Roads are a structural element of the utmost importance for economic and social development, and require significant investments. We are well aware of this, and that’s why we have worked to contribute our experience and knowledge on more than 8,000 km of road studies and projects, some of them world-renowned. We provide value and differentiation through the experience we have gained in all kinds of different projects, with their specific challenges and in the different phases of the infrastructure’s life cycle. We innovate to make roads efficient, safe and environmentally integrated infrastructures.

    Roads & Highways

    We are well-aware of the delicate commitment that the design of these infrastructures requires in terms of technical requirements, restrictions imposed by the environmental component, the different stakeholders and operators involved, as well as the need to integrate the project into the environment. We have experience in the entire implementation cycle of these infrastructures, from feasibility studies to planning, design and construction oversight.

    Engineering know-how is required to ensure optimal efficiency and safety, while minimizing the cost and environmental impact. Based on our experience, we tackle roadways as a comprehensive multidisciplinary project that, in addition to linear infrastructures, encompasses singular infrastructures such as bridges, tunnels, operations control centers, intelligent transport systems, communications, toll areas and systems… Some examples are the southern metropolitan variant of Bilbao in Spain, the A4 highway – Transmontana concession in Portugal, the A1 – Czerniewice/Odolion/Brzezie highway in Poland, the BR-381/ MG in Brazil or the Tuxpan – Tampico highway in Mexico.

    Major Crossings, Bridges & Tunnels

    We have participated all over the world in emblematic road tunnel and bridge projects, such as the fourth bridge over the Panama Canal, the Cebú-Córdova highway (Cebu Bridge) in the Philippines, the Itaparica Bridge in Brazil and the road tunnels under the Suez Canal in Port Said in Egypt, among others.

    These are infrastructures that are key to the quality of life of the communities and present great technical challenges, but are subject to high efficiency and safety requirements, and where respect for the environment must be ensured.

    We approach these projects, which are key for the movement of goods and people, with the comprehensive multidisciplinary vision that is required by complex interrelationships with existing networks. After designing, analyzing and supervising the construction of hundreds of bridge projects, we are able to offer fully integrated services that meet all technical, financial, social and aesthetic requirements.

    Smart & Nature Integrated Motorways

    We are making progress in road innovation, in line with the demands for more resilient infrastructure. Smart infrastructures allow the real and digital worlds to merge, providing enormous potential for improvements and increasing efficiency through new technologies.

    As an example, we can cite the anti-fog protection system designed by Sener that was put into operation on the A8 highway in Spain.

    Our technical expertise also encompasses the assessment and mitigation of the impact of construction activities on the landscape and residential environments.
