Comprehensive projects and one-off services
Originating as a marine engineering firm, we have always remained true to the sea. Our reputation for innovation in marine engineering spans from the design phase to the delivery of the vessel. We engage in state-of-the-art work across conceptual, basic, and classification engineering, as well as detailed production engineering, consultancy, and technical support. Our involvement extends through every project phase, ensuring we support our clients in both the development of comprehensive projects and the provision of individual services.
Our marine architects and engineers get the conceptual design underway when the ship is no more than an idea in the ship owner’s head. At Sener, we look into the dimensions of the ship and its primary pieces of equipment, while validating its technical and economic feasibility, as well as compliance with the applicable regulations.
From our perspective, conceptual design can be approached in two ways:
This phase includes at least the following documentation: preliminary naval architecture studies, general layout plans, initial specification of the ship, master frame, machine layout plan and preliminary electrical balance.
Upon determining the type of ship to be constructed, we deliver a functional design, complete with equipment and systems, aimed at optimizing efficiency upon deployment. This is done in strict adherence to the regulations and standards set by the relevant Authorities and the chosen Classification Society, upholding high-quality standards and environmental respect.
Within the scope of Sener’s services, we handle the approval of plans and documents by Classification Authorities and Classification Societies. To this end, we communicate directly with these bodies and advocate the best solutions to comply with regulations and achieve the efficiency and sustainability of a project in the most advantageous way.
Within the field of classification engineering, we are active in all disciplines:
We carry out detail and production engineering with a view to optimizing the construction process, cutting down on costs and time.
We create a 3D model, based on the plans and reports drawn up in the classification engineering phase, duly approved by the ship owner, the Classification Society and the corresponding Authorities. In this model, we introduce the entire structure, the equipment, its piping and wiring, including the support and the framing.
We draw up the necessary plans for the construction and assembly of each and every one of the elements of the ship’s structure, piping, equipment and accessories. We strive to get the best price and deadline, adapting to the construction strategy, regulations and standards of the shipyard.
We accompany the ship owner with consultancy services, regardless of whether we have developed the engineering used in the project. These include:
We provide these services for new-builds as well as for repairs and ships in operation.
We also offer ship owners our expertise in construction supervision. We check that:
For clients with limited structure or who are located in areas where it is difficult to arrange the purchase of equipment and materials, we offer a high value-added solution: our Construction Kit.
This kit includes all the engineering for the project (from conceptual design to production drawings), as well as the materials and equipment necessary for the complete construction of the ship.
It is a system that boosts the shipyard’s autonomy. With the Construction Kit, our clients not only get the ship built, but there is also technology transfer. Thanks to this, throughout the shipbuilding process, they acquire the experience and know-how to apply to similar projects in the future, with less dependence on external companies.

ProjectsWe work closely with our clients because their success and progress is also ours. This is how we have always achieved the best results.
We are playing our part in reducing the environmental impact of the industry, by innovating using state-of-the-art technologies. To achieve this, we use hydrogen and natural gas as fuels in our prototypes.
