Hypogea: Retractable pitch system

Hypogea is an innovative retractable pitch system, developed and patented by Sener, that can automatically, quickly and safely remove and protect the natural grass in a stadium by means of a set of mechanisms that reposition and move the trays that divide the playing field. It also features advanced grass maintenance systems (including irrigation, ventilation, heating, drainage, and more).

This solution maximizes the amount of space available in sports stadiums for multiple events and non-sports uses, such as concerts, conventions and shows.

One of the variants of the Hypogea system was designed and built at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium of Real Madrid CF.
