SENER Aeroespacial, a company of the SENER engineering and technology group, has appointed Fernando Quintana as Director of Weapon Systems, within the Defense business development area. This appointment strengthens SENER Aeroespacial’s presence in the development of new weapons systems programs, in which the company already has an important activity in actuation and control systems for missiles.

Fernando Quintana has developed his entire professional career at SENER, where he began working in 1991 and where he has participated in projects in the Space, Aeronautics and Defense sectors. He began his career in the company as a space project engineer in the Structures and Mechanisms section in Getxo, Bilbao. Subsequently, he held responsibilities as Project Manager in several programs for the European Space Agency (ESA).

In 2003, he was appointed Project Manager in the Airbus A380 program, in which SENER participated, as well as Head of the Aeronautical Engineering Section. In 2004, he was appointed Director of the Aeronautical Engineering Division. Since 2007, he served as Project Manager in several programs in the Defense sector. In 2019, he was appointed Director of the Electromechanical Systems Division of SENER Aeroespacial, with activities in Space, Defense and Science.

Fernando Quintana holds a master degree in Aeronautical Engineering from the Polytechnic University of Madrid UPM, and has completed the Executive Master in Business Administration (EMBA) of the Deusto Business School in its first promotion.
