Engineering and technology group Sener has once again been ranked as Spain’s leading international design engineering firm in the 2026 edition of the Engineering News-Record (ENR) rankings, the sector’s leading international publication. The company rises to 36th place in the “Top 225 International Design Firms”, up from 38th in 2025, continuing its progress among the world’s leading engineering firms.

The “Top 225 International Design Firms” ranks the world’s leading engineering and design companies by revenue generated from projects carried out outside their home country. Sener’s position reflects the importance of international activity to its business: in 2025, 88% of the group’s sales came from international markets, with a growing presence across different geographies. These results position Sener as the highest-ranked Spanish engineering firm in the classification.

In addition to the overall ranking, ENR analyses firms’ international activity across different sectors. In Manufacturing, a category covering projects related to industrial and manufacturing facilities, Sener ranks fifth worldwide, moving up two places from seventh in 2025.

Sener also advances in the “Top 150 Global Design Firms”, which ranks companies by total revenue from design and engineering services, including both domestic and international activity. The company reaches 94th place, up from 104th in the previous edition. The ten-place rise further underscores the group’s global growth over the past year.

Meanwhile, in the “Top 250 International Contractors” ranking, Sener ranks seventh among non-US firms, further strengthening its international position in the integrated management of major projects.  The ranking assesses leading international firms in construction management and program management, recognising their ability to manage and coordinate highly complex programmes.

Sener’s performance comes against a backdrop of growing international activity across the engineering sector. The 225 companies included in the ranking collectively generated $97.6 billion in international revenue in 2025, up 9.2% on the previous year. According to ENR, this growth is being driven by increasing global demand for new infrastructure, the expansion of data centres and artificial intelligence, as well as continued progress in the energy transition.

The results achieved in this year’s ENR rankings support Sener’s international strategy, which is based on diversification and technological innovation, while further strengthening its position among the world’s leading engineering companies. The group combines a multidisciplinary offering with the expertise and capacity to deliver highly complex projects across different sectors and geographies.
