The project will be carried out by Sener professionals through a volunteer programme run by the Sener Foundation.
The initiative aims to design a water extraction pump intended for people living in vulnerable rural areas.
The Sener Foundation, the non-profit organisation of the Sener group, has signed a collaboration agreement with Ingeniería para la Cooperación-Lankidetzarako Ingeniaritza (ICLI) and the association TADEH (Appropriate Technologies for Human Development) to jointly implement an initiative aimed at improving access to water in vulnerable rural communities, primarily in Africa and South America.
The project seeks to design a water extraction pump with the objective of developing an open, efficient solution tailored to the specific needs of the environment in which it will be deployed, thereby enabling more sustainable and reliable access to this essential resource.
The initiative brings together complementary capabilities and extensive experience across different fields. On the one hand, Sener professionals will participate through the Sener Foundation’s volunteer programme, contributing their expertise and experience in the development of engineering solutions. On the other hand, TADEH will provide its experience in delivering training courses in isolated rural areas for the construction of water supply and sanitation systems, while ICLI will contribute its track record in implementing cooperation and sustainable development projects in rural and vulnerable communities.
The partnership between the Sener Foundation, ICLI and TADEH is founded on a shared conviction: that engineering achieves its greatest value when placed at the service of society. Remaining true to the mission for which it was established, the Sener Foundation promotes initiatives that reinforce the socially responsible nature of engineering and technology, channelling the expertise and commitment of Sener professionals towards projects with a positive social impact. This new collaboration demonstrates how knowledge, innovation and joint effort can help broaden access to essential resources such as water and create a lasting positive impact on the communities that need it most.
