Signal Processing Electronics

Signal processing units play a critical role in the operation of launchers and satellites, particularly for navigation, thermal control, and the management of other satellite systems. At Sener, we are equipped to integrate advanced algorithms for hybrid GNSS/INS navigation, as well as data acquisition and management, into your electronic units.

Power Electronics

At Sener, we offer an extensive array of solutions in space power electronics. Power supplies, especially DC/DC converters, are essential components of the electrical power system. They supply the necessary energy to scientific instruments, actuators, motors, and radio frequency (RF) equipment to achieve their goals.

Communications satellites, in particular, utilize numerous RF devices that demand power. To address this, Sener provides Centralised Power Supply Units (CPSU). These units are designed with redundancy, capable of powering and interfacing with multiple RF loads. Centralizing the supply and communication functions leads to a reduction in the overall mass of the system when compared to having individual supplies and communication for each RF load.

DC-DC

Key features of Sener power supplies:

  • Capable of handling power outputs from 1W to 200W
  • Platform compatibility, designed to work with a variety of common satellite platforms for both scientific and communication missions.
  • Control interfaces, utilizing discrete commands or digital communication protocols like CAN BUS, MIL-STD-1553B, or proprietary buses.
  • Redundant solutions with fail-safe mechanisms to ensure reliability and safety.
Centralised Power Supply Units (CPSUs)

A single CPSU can manage up to 36 loads.

Each CPSU consists of two DC/DC converter modules and two communication modules, all operating under a cold redundancy system. DC/DC converter modules handle power processing, while communication modules relay commands from the on-board computer.

The CPSU interfaces are designed to be compatible with equipment commonly used by satellite integrators and adhere to ECSS (European Cooperation for Space Standardization) standards.

CPSUs are highly adaptable, allowing modifications to suit specific user requirements regarding power capacity, communication protocols, redundancy configurations, and the number of loads.
