High Gain Antenna Gimbal (HGAG) for the rover Perseverance of the Mars 2020 mission
The City Council of Mandaue has awarded Sener the feasibility study for the supply of drinking water in the town, located on the Island of Cebu (Philippines). With 364,000 inhabitants, the city is part of the second largest metropolitan area in the country and faces important drinking water supply challenges.
The study on which Sener will work will make it possible to project new infrastructures for the supply of drinking water and treatment systems, such as desalination plants, adapted to the growing needs of the municipality and its inhabitants. The project is financed by the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Tourism of Spain, through the Secretary of State for Commerce, through FIEM funds, one of the instruments of the system to support the internationalization of the Spanish economy and its companies.
Sener has carried out projects of great technical complexity in the region, such as the Cebu-Cordova Link Expressway, for which Sener was the reference engineer in the preliminary and detailed design of the project and for which it provided technical assistance during construction; This project was recognized, at the end of 2023, in two categories of the International Association of Bridge and Structural Engineering (IABSE) awards, as well as the detailed design of the East Bay 1 water purification plant in Manila with a capacity of 50,000 m3 per day in which reverse osmosis technology was applied and the basic design of the container terminal at the port of Batangas.
On behalf of Sener, Anna María Oliver, project director; Gina Vives, hydraulic engineer; and Xavier Pascual, director of Consulting and New Technologies; recently met with Jonas Cortes, Mayor of the local government of Mandaue, and the technical team of the municipality along with the rest of the stakeholders involved for the start of the work.
