SENER in Portugal celebrates 30 years of presence in the most emblematic projects20/04/2021 (Portugal)
SENER's office in Portugal was set up in 1991, 30 years ago, to take advantage of the SENER Group's experience in metros in Spain, with complex networks successfully developed in the Bilbao and Valencia metros.
The success of projects such as the Lisbon metro and the Oporto metro, a comprehensive work, SENER consolidated its position in the country as a very technological and solid company, gaining the trust of its clients; a heritage that has been maintained over time and that SENER wants to keep in Portugal.
SENER in Portugal, led from the beginning by Aguinaldo Azevedo as Country Manager and integrated by Portuguese professionals, had an organic growth that consolidated in a decade as an SME specialized in railway projects (both intercity railroads and metros). In 2008, SENER acquired the Portuguese engineering company ENGIVIA, with experience in the road sector, which allowed it to enter into design and construction contracts for roads and highways.
Today, SENER in Portugal offers a very technological type of engineering, especially in railway projects, roads and bridges, both for Portugal and for other countries, with an export rate of around 60%.
