SENER Engineering wins the contract to develop the Feasibility Study for the new Bilbao-Santander railway line09/09/2020 (Spain)
The Spanish Ministry of Transport, Mobility and Urban Agenda has awarded WSP Spain-Apia and SENER Engineering Joint Venture the contract for developing the Feasibility Study of the section between Bilbao and Santander of the Cantabrian-Mediterranean Corridor.
The contract budget is 1.2 million euros and consists of three different phases:
- The first phase will define preliminary alternatives that will go through a technical, environmental, social and economic assessment.
- In the second phase, the selected alternatives will be further develop, in parallel with the Environmental Impact Study.
- During the third phase of the contract, the Joint Venture will provide technical support to the Administration in the processing of public information to issue the Environmental Impact Statement.
The future line will allow mixed traffic (freight and passengers).
