High Gain Antenna Gimbal (HGAG) for the rover Perseverance of the Mars 2020 mission
TURNKEY CONTRACTORS
We have been applying our engineering and technological innovation capabilities to all types of natural gas infrastructure since the 1970s. This has led to us becoming one of the industry’s leading turnkey contractors; carrying out everything from large regasification terminals and cryogenic storage tanks to developing the virtual pipeline concept. With that experience, we are now adapting infrastructure to transport other sustainable gases, such as hydrogen.
As experts in gas industry technologies, we have developed different solutions, including the boil-off gas recondenser or reliquefier, a proprietary cryogenic storage tank design, as well as a wide range of floating solutions for LNG storage, regasification and power generation.
We completed our first turnkey liquefied natural gas (LNG) storage and regasification terminal project in 2003. Since then, we have expanded and proven our capabilities in several successful projects:
To date, we have carried out turnkey projects for Europe’s largest LNG terminals. These include Sagunto and BBG in Spain, Gate terminal in Holland, Dunkirk and Zeebrugge in Belgium and German LNG in Germany.
Gate terminal, located in Maasvlakte, in Rotterdam’s Europort industrial port, is particularly commendable for being one of Europe’s largest gas projects and has received numerous international awards.
We developed proprietary technology to design and build conventional, double containment and cryogenic LNG storage tanks.
In the BBG expansion, Sener engineers were single-handedly responsible for the complete design, procurement, construction and start-up of the tank, which has a storage capacity of 150,000 m3. In fact, it was the first tank in Spain to be built in accordance with European quality standards EN 1473 and EN 14620.
We have the technology required to carry out the complete design and construction of cryogenic storage tanks. We work on engineering optimization to obtain significantly better final construction results. We are currently responsible for the EPC and start-up of a project in Marseille (France) for a 30,000 m3 ethylene cryogenic tank.
We have extensive experience in the development of Floating Storage Regasification Units (FSRU). Our expertise combines knowledge in naval design, onshore regasification terminals, marine civil works (including offshore platforms), and combined cycles
Floating Storage Regasification Units are mobile plants capable of supplying a market that demands gas as its main energy source from places where it is not possible to install an onshore regasification plant or which do not have their own regasification infrastructures in place. They therefore allow gas-importing countries to diversify their supply sources, which is of the utmost importance when it comes to maintaining a certain degree of energy independence.
These types of floating and modular units also help to cut down on installation times; they are a quick response to an increase in gas demand in geographical areas such as those described above.
We work with different configurations to adapt to the client needs, combining our knowledge in naval design, onshore regasification terminals, marine civil works (including offshore or offshore platforms) and combined cycles:
A virtual LNG distribution pipeline is one of the solutions to supply gas to places where building traditional pipelines to transport natural gas is not viable.
The natural gas will be transported in liquefied form. A mid-scale liquefaction plant feeds a fleet of LNG tankers that will distribute it by road, rail or river transport to strategically located satellite regasification stations. Supplies will be transported between locations relatively close to the liquefaction plant and with sufficient volume of consumers. At these stations, the LNG is regasified and fed into the pipeline network to reach homes or small plants.
Compressor stations ensure that natural gas maintains sufficient pressure on its way through long-distance pipelines. We have extensive experience in the engineering, construction and start-up of facilities such as this, right the way through to the turnkey delivery to the client
We incorporate turbo-compressors in the compressor stations, which are manufactured in accordance with the distinctive characteristics of the network, as well as the rest of the main equipment and systems: regulation and measurement units, scraper traps, separator and coalescing filters, electrical system and equipment, and auxiliary services area. Each station is equipped with its own Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA), connected via satellite to the central control system of the gas pipeline network and seamlessly integrated into the installation as a whole.
For years we have been working on hydrogen, a key resource for decarbonization. We develop disruptive ideas that drive the evolution of this industry, using cutting-edge technologies in all phases of a project, from design to start-up. Our experience in the safe treatment of H2 and other gases, combined with extensive knowledge of power generation, means we can continue working with you to make hydrogen a solution for the future.
Our mission is to innovate in order to advance towards a sustainable society and a sustainable business and industry. We are specialists in energy transition technologies,
We support the transformation of industrial models towards the circular economy paradigm, in which waste is reduced and the useful life of raw materials is extended.
At Sener, our journey in the renewable energy industry got underway in the 1980s, when we started up our first solar projects. This path has led us to be pioneers in the development of cutting-edge technology and to contribute to more than thirty solar thermal plants around the world,
We have been offering wind and other marine energy solutions such as wave energy for years, as well as having the capacity to cover a wide range of services throughout the entire lifespan of a wind farm project.
Cogeneration and combined cycle power plants are highly complex facilities that call for expert knowledge in several industrial and energy fields. Our teams are experts in the design of hybrid plants that allow the reduction of CO2 emissions,
